Apparently Republican House Appropriations Chairman Hal Rogers (R-KY) has no stomach for a budget fight with the Senate Democrats and so the current Continuing Resolution (CR) to fund government operations has been stripped of its Planned Parenthood de-funding provision.
The current CR does not address cuts in ObamaCare funding or its automatic funding which has recently come to light. Rather, it contains substantial funding for all of these programs that conservatives want to eliminate. In other words, these are not serious budget cuts and are designed primarily to appease the Senate Democrats and to ensure that they won’t put up a fight against this weak CR bill which will come up for a seven-month renewal on March 18. And Sen. Harry Reid is pleased!
We must demand that our Congressional Representatives and Senators place the Pence amendment on the next CR. Otherwise, PP will continue to receive millions of our tax dollars.
