Last week, the House passed H.R. 3, a government-wide, permanent ban on tax funding for abortions. The legislation will also ban subsidies for abortions under the “Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act,” remove tax-preferred status for abortion through company health savings accounts, AND provide “conscience clause” protection for medical professionals.
Polls show that most Americans oppose using tax money to pay for abortions.
This comprehensive legislation is a very strong pro-life measure which was passed overwhelmingly by the House and now heads to the Senate, where it will have a very difficult time passing, as pro-abortion Democrats control that chamber.
While all the House Republicans voted for this bill, the GOP lacks four votes of having a majority in the Senate. And, unfortunately, not all the GOP Senators can be counted on to support pro-life legislation.
Please email your Senators, Republican or Democrat, and urge them to support H.R. 3 when it reaches the Senate floor.
